Direction of the Day
Which way should you sit and which way should you negotiate today? Derived from your Kua's auspicious directions and today's day branch.
About this test
Directions are a preference, not a guarantee. Their real use is this: when you cannot rank a stack of tasks, they give you a free way to order them.
This tool stacks three things: today's day branch (derived from the Julian day number, constant for the day), the directions of its six-harmony and three-harmony branches, and the four auspicious directions of your Kua (Fu Wei, Sheng Qi, Yan Nian, Tian Yi). The intersection wins; when it is empty the first auspicious direction is used. The direction clashing with today's day branch is marked avoid.
One caveat: this settles which way, not when. Full date selection is a separate system β the moving-date tool here covers only the twelve Jian Chu officers, and is not a complete date selection either.
Frequently asked
Why does the answer change daily?
The day branch moves forward one step each day by the Julian day number, so its harmony directions differ daily. Your Kua's auspicious directions never change, so the intersection changes with them. Within a single day the result is identical every time.
Should I really avoid that direction?
It is a priority, not a taboo. Do not schedule important conversations there and do not sit there for long. If your desk or bed head is there, angling the chair or sitting sideways for the day is enough.
How is this different from an annual reading?
An annual reading uses the whole year's branch relations (six-harmony, three-harmony, six-clash). This tool uses one day. Different granularity, no conflict, and they are not combined.
