Flying Star Test

Enter your birth year to lay out the annual flying stars across the nine palaces.

About this test

Flying Star β€” Xuan Kong β€” is a branch of feng shui that works with time as well as space. The core idea is that a building's energy pattern shifts from one twenty-year period to the next, and that the current period changes which directions and rooms matter most.

This test asks for your orientation, the year the building was completed, and how each room is used, then gives reminders for the current period. We are now in Period 9, which began in 2024, so advice that was correct in Period 8 may well be out of date β€” that's the part most people get wrong.

Flying Star is one of the more technical branches, and a full analysis considers the facing and sitting directions, the mountain and water stars, and the annual influence on top of the period chart. This gives you the period-level layer only.

Treat the output as a starting point for thinking about room use, not as instruction to knock anything down. Most Period 9 adjustments are about which room you use for what.
