Phone Number Elements

What element each of the last eight digits carries, and which dominates. Computed locally β€” the number is never uploaded.

About this test

The digit-to-element correspondence comes from the Hetu numbers and is well defined: 1 and 6 Water; 2 and 7 Fire; 3 and 8 Wood; 4 and 9 Metal; 5 and 10 Earth. This tool classifies the last eight digits one by one (0 counts as Earth), counts each element, takes the most frequent as dominant, and uses the digit sum modulo 9 as a number root.

One thing must be said plainly: this is a classification, not a cause. "Changing your number changes your fortune" does not follow from it. This site offers no number-selection advice and does not suggest changing your number for this.

Practically: the number is computed in your browser and never sent to a server, and nothing is recorded on the page.

Frequently asked

Why only the last eight digits?

Not a question of accuracy. The first three digits are allocated by the carrier and cannot be chosen, so the tradition looks only at the last eight. That convention is itself an agreement, not a derivation.

Should the dominant element match my useful element?

This tool does not make that comparison, because it would smuggle causation into a classification. To find your useful element, use the lucky colours test, which derives it directly from the chart.

Should I compensate for a missing element?

No. A digit being absent from a phone number and an element being absent from a chart are different things, and the latter depends on the useful element rather than on what is missing. This site offers no such remedies.
