About this test

Compatibility scoring is the most loosely used part of the tradition: the same two birth times can differ by twenty points between schools. So this tool gives no score. It lists checkable structural facts and leaves the judgement to you.

Four relations are listed: day branches (six-harmony, three-harmony, six-clash, six-harm, punishment, same), Day Master elements (generate, control, same), year branches, and hour branches. The day branches describe day-to-day tempo, the Day Masters describe default reactions, and the year branches lean towards family background and long-term direction.

To be clear: this framework describes default tendencies, not whether you should be together. The only real test of a relationship is whether you can close specific things together.

Why is there no score?

Because the score is not checkable. The relations between branches and elements are published, fixed tables you can look up yourself. How many points a harmony adds or a clash removes is a convention each school sets for itself. Removing the unverifiable part leaves something actually useful.

What if I do not know a birth hour?

Leave it as unknown. The hour-branch relation is then skipped and the other four are still computed. Day pillars and day branches do not depend on the hour, so the main conclusions stand.

Why does this differ from the app's score?

The app uses a weighted scoring convention (a base score with additions and deductions); this page uses structural facts. They do not conflict, but neither should be treated as a verdict. The app's method is documented on the methodology page.
