About this test
The trap in learning BaZi is not difficulty β it is things that sound right. "Add whatever element is missing" is the most repeated advice and it is wrong. Many people assume the year pillar changes at Chinese New Year. Once these take hold, everything read afterwards is skewed.
All ten questions come from the conventions this site publishes, not invented trivia: the year pillar switches at Li Chun, the month pillar at the 12 jie, the day pillar from the Julian day number, the early Zi hour convention, the Kua depending only on year and gender, the annual flying star formula (11 β year mod 9) mod 9, and Kangxi traditional stroke counts.
Finishing is not the point. Every question explains the correct convention, and the ones you miss are worth re-reading on the methodology page, where every formula and anchor is written out so you can recompute it yourself.

Does a low score mean I should not study this?
No. These ten questions test conventions, not aptitude. Conventions are rules you can simply memorise, and once you have them most "the calculation is wrong" problems disappear.
Is this the only correct convention?
No, but it is the one used consistently across this site. The Zi hour has early and late conventions, and flying star schools differ. Which we chose and why is documented on the methodology page so you can compare with other tools.
What should I do after a perfect score?
Take a birthday you are sure of, compute the four pillars by hand, and compare with this site. If they match, you genuinely own the convention β far more useful than more quizzes.
