About this test
Zi Wei Dou Shu — Purple Star Astrology — is one of the two major Chinese chart systems, alongside BaZi. It places stars across twelve palaces, each covering an area of life, and reads the interactions between them. It's considerably more detailed than most people expect.
This page does not cast a chart. It is a temperament self-assessment: five scenario questions map onto the behaviour patterns of the fourteen major stars, and you get the one that fits closest, with its strengths and its blind spots. Your actual life-palace star can only come from a real chart, and it will not always match — which is exactly what makes the comparison worth doing.
A full Zi Wei reading involves the star combinations, the transformation patterns, and how the current luck palace interacts with the natal chart. That's a long session, and it's where the method actually earns its reputation. What you get here is enough to decide whether it's worth going further.
